Steady rain continued in areas near the coastal mountains, including the North Shore, Burnaby, Coquitlam, and Fraser Valley. Low-lying neighborhoods experienced pooling water, minor flooding, and storm drain backups.
March 27–28
Heavy overnight downpours resulted in multiple emergency service calls for flooded basements and blocked street drains.
March 29–30
Although rainfall eased, saturated ground conditions increased the risk of delayed flooding and mold growth in buildings that were not properly dried out.
Stanley Park Seawall Closed for Safety
The Stanley Park seawall from Third Beach to the Lions Gate Bridge was closed due to high tide and dangerous conditions. The Vancouver Park Board took immediate action to ensure public safety.
